It’s Official: Bob DaSilva Announces Candidacy for East Providence Mayor

The first announced candidate to be East Providence’s first elected Mayor is Bob DaSilva. DaSilva, a police Captain in Pawtucket, has been active in local government, community groups and youth sports. DaSilva was one of several persons, identified by The Reporter, as a potential candidate to become East Providence’s first-ever Mayor. The election is slated for November 2018. Campaign publicist Shana Autiello released a statement making DaSilva’s announcement official:

“Veteran law-enforcement officer, experienced public servant and community volunteer Roberto “Bob” DaSilva today announced his intention to run for Mayor of East Providence in the city’s first-ever mayoral election in November 2018. DaSilva will formally announce his candidacy at a campaign kickoff event, open to the public and media, later this month (further details will be released in the coming weeks). Read more
