Integrity. Accountability. Strong Work Ethic.

As a veteran law-enforcement officer, public servant and community volunteer, Bob also brings nearly three decades of municipal, government and administrative leadership experience.

As a Rhode Island State Representative Bob was honored to serve the residents of District 63 in East Providence and Pawtucket at the State House from 2009-2013. He gained a great deal of knowledge and insight into how the government operates. He was fortunate to serve on the judiciary committee, labor committee, municipal government committee and the commission studying the development of ports. That service has prepared him to better serve the community as the first-elected mayor of East Providence.

Bob is equally proud of his legislative track record where he earned the reputation of an honest, collaborative leader and man of his word while serving in the House of Representatives.

As a person who strongly supports law and order, he was responsible for:

– Co-sponsoring and passing a bill closing the prostitution loophole
– Sponsoring and passing a bill protecting victims of domestic violence strangulation.
– Lobbying for Full Day Kindergarten
– Sponsoring bills that would keep millions of tax dollars here in RI and protect children in DCYF care from being sent out of state

Bob’s commitment to public service runs deep; from as far back as he can remember, he as always loved helping people and giving back to his community. He first joined the Pawtucket Police Department as a police officer in 1993 and worked his way through the ranks to become a police captain. He worked in various capacities from undercover detective to administration Lieutenant responsible for purchasing and budgeting. He worked in internal affairs where his job was to ensure all of the members were maintaining the highest degree of integrity and professionalism. Bob earned a B.S. in Administration of Justice from Roger Williams University.

Working with children is a true passion of Bob’s and one that brings him the most joy. As a founding member and current president of the non-profit East Providence Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA), his goal is to continue to better the lives of East Providence’s youth through athletics, teamwork, and comradery. The organization works tirelessly to open doors for young people in East Providence to offer them the opportunity to excel in sports and stay on the right path to success.

That is the same vision Bob has for the City of East Providence – to make it a hub of optimism and opportunity.

Like many cities across the state, we’ve lost too many good-paying jobs from our community. As mayor, Bob will be laser-focused on business development throughout East Providence, from developing our waterfront to helping existing businesses flourish. And, as we work to make East Providence an attractive place for businesses, we must also work to make our city an attractive place to live, work, receive a quality education and raise a family. To make East Providence an All-American City once again.

To achieve this, East Providence needs a leader with unquestioned values and integrity who will not only hold others, but himself, accountable. He will be a mayor who, above all else, puts Integrity First.
